Mojito Water

On the latest craze of flavored waters you can make at home I started thinking...."How do you enjoy the flavor of a cocktail without the calories?" Solution, MOJITO WATER!

Tastes just like a Mojito to me with no sugar and no rum. None of the boozey side effects (be that a plus or minus to you), but it has great taste and is just plain water with good stuff in it.

First, I have these popsicle sets that I got form Oriental Trading Company a while back. I'm sure they sell them most everywhere. I'll give you a few links here to places you can get them if you don't have some handy:

If you want to go really old school *puts on Bill Cosby voice* You can use a Jello Puddin' Pop Container.

Alrighty, so after you've got a clean container to put these babies in (and truth be told if you have something that you can turn upside down--even muffin pans work fine, you can make these. Or you can make them in ice cub trays. I just found this way to be easier)....

1. Wash limes and fresh mint

2. Cut limes in teeny tiny slices

3. Layer 2-3 lime slices then a sprig or two of mint, repeat until desired number of containers looks full.

4. Pour (bottled or filtered if you're like me and have crap water) water over them to where they are almost filled to the top.

5. If you've got something with a top / cap / stick then stick that on top and be careful not to spill everywhere.

6. Stick the trays / containers / whatever in the freezer

7. Give it at least 2 hours to freeze (this may vary depending on your freezer)
Or if you're impatient and don't want to wait on a freezer they now have these cool quick pop makers.

How awesome do those look? I want one...

8. Pull out of outer cover where it looks like a popsicle

9. Fill a cup 3/4 full of water (and ice if you wish) and stick the popsicle in it. Swirl around a few times then leave in and let the "popsicle" begin to melt.

Almost IMMEDIATELY you will be able to taste the lime and mint in there. The longer you let it sit the stronger the taste. If you want it light then take it out before it melts. If you want it strong leave it in until you pull out a clean stick.
